Equality Policy

Context

Brix IT recognises that equality, diversity and inclusion are essential foundations of a healthy, innovative and resilient organisation. As a technology consulting company operating in a global and rapidly evolving environment, we are deeply aware of the value that diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences bring to our teams, our problem-solving capacity, and ultimately to the quality of service we deliver to our clients.

We acknowledge the systemic challenges that have historically led to underrepresentation and inequality across industries and are committed to actively promoting equity in all aspects of our operations. This policy reflects our alignment with European and national legislation — including the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and the Portuguese Labour Code — and is also informed by best practices and global frameworks related to human rights and inclusive workplaces.

This commitment extends beyond internal human resources practices to how we conduct business, choose our partners, engage with clients, and contribute to the broader ecosystem we are part of.

Purpose

The aim of this policy is to establish a clear and actionable framework to promote equality of opportunity and eliminate discrimination across all areas of Brix IT’s operations. It articulates our zero-tolerance stance on any form of unfair treatment, whether direct or indirect, and sets expectations for behaviour, accountability and continuous improvement.

This policy applies to all employees, regardless of contract type, job title or seniority, and to all people interacting with our company, including candidates, contractors, clients, and suppliers.

More specifically, this policy seeks to:
- Promote a culture of belonging, where every individual feels safe, valued, and empowered to contribute.
- Prevent all forms of discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or belief, marital or family status, disability, neurodiversity, or any other characteristic protected by law.
- Ensure that all employment-related decisions — including recruitment, training, compensation, promotion, and termination — are made on the basis of merit, capability, and organisational need.
- Support fair representation and participation across all levels and functions of the organisation.
- Foster respectful communication and collaboration, rooted in empathy and professionalism.

Brix IT embraces its responsibility to actively implement, uphold, and evolve this policy. We commit to the following actions:

Supply Chain & Business Conduct:

- Collaborate only with organisations that share our values and ethical standards.

Monitoring and Communication

Brix IT will monitor the implementation of this policy to ensure that it remains effective, relevant, and aligned with best practices and legal standards. This will be done through:

- Annual review of internal equality metrics and KPIs.
- Monitoring the composition of the workforce and identifying representation gaps.
- Reviewing HR processes (recruitment, evaluation, compensation, promotions) for bias or inconsistency.
- Collecting anonymous feedback from employees on workplace climate and inclusion.
- Maintaining a clear and accessible process for reporting concerns or suggestions.

This policy is shared with all employees during onboarding and is available through internal platforms and by request. It is also shared with partners and clients when relevant.

All employees are expected to uphold the principles of this policy and to contribute actively to building a culture of fairness, respect, and opportunity for all. Management and team leaders are responsible for leading by example and ensuring that inclusive values are embedded in daily decision-making and team dynamics.
